Stenorrhynchos speciosum is a terrestrial orchid species native to Mexico and Central America - their thick, tubular roots grow well in a very airy substrate such as a peat-heavy potting soil or sphagnum moss. Their leaves are lush and decorative, and their winter flowers can last for many weeks on end. Spikes of red tubular flowers show a white lip.
