Coffea arabica -  “Coffee Plant”

Light: Bright indirect to some direct sun indoors. Avoid very strong sun especially mid-day as it can burn the leaves.

Water: Water when the top 1-2" of soil has dried out. These plants are not drought tolerant and can suffer permanent damage if the soil dries out completely. The coffee plant will tend to shed leaves if it is over or under-watered.

Environment: Preferes a moderately humid environment. If its leaves are browning or crisping on the edges, mist regularly,  add a humidifier to the room, or set the plant on a pebble tray filled with water. Do not place it near an AC vent or heat source.

Toxicity: Reported to be toxic to cats and dogs.

Of Note:

  • It’s best to fertilize your coffee plant once or twice a year in spring and summer
  • Not intended for human or animal consumption
Water with tepid water
*When planting in a pot without a drainage hole, avoid over watering by estimating 25% of the container’s overall volume, with appropriate drainage materials incorporated when planting.
