Farfugium

Light: Farfugium grows best in ample bright light. Avoid dim light which results in weak growth or direct sun which can stress the leaves.

Water: Water fully and with a frequency to maintain even soil moisture. A rich, well-draining soil is ideal. Leaves will droop slightly when thirsty, and this will help you determine when is best to water again. Avoid any excess or standing water.

Environment: Avoid warm / stuffy scenarios as these plants actually prefer cooler conditions. Avoid drafts including forced air vents. Fertilize regularly spring to autumn.

Toxicity: These plants are toxic.

Of Note:

  • The broad, round leaves of this plant earn it the nickname “tractor seat plant.”
  • Wipe these broad leaves clean of any dust or dirt routinely to keep them looking and performing their best.

*When planting in a pot without a drainage hole, avoid over watering by estimating 25% of the container’s overall volume, with appropriate drainage materials incorporated when planting.
