Hoya is a genus of tropical plant in the Apocynaceae family and also known as "Waxvine" or "Waxflower". They are normally vines or creepers that an be epiphytic or terrestrial and climb by twisting. They have simple, normally thick, leaves arranged in opposite pattern. Flowers appear in clusters at the tips of spurs, or peduncies. Flowers can vary in size and shape but for the most part they are star shaped and thick, almost wax like.
