Bracteantha, otherwise known as Xerochrysum or "Strawflower",  is a bright and sturdy annual to use in your seasonal containers.  Strawflowers are native to the Australian Outback where they grow to a height of 2-3 feet with a 24 inch spread. They are great for a long lasting cut floral element and can even look great dried. 

  • Light: full sun to part sun
  • Watering: even moisture 
  • Soil: regular, well drained, fertile potting mix
  • Height: variable depending on type
  • Fertilization: prefer a low phosphorus fertilizer (low second analysis number)
  • Growth habit: upright
  • Zone: 10 - 11
