Monstera dubia is a shingling type plant, meaning that its leaves cling to the surface of the tree or other support that it is grown on. It has aerial roots that grip onto any porous surface to support the vine as it climbs. In an indoor setting it may grow up to 3 ft on a support, but in its natural setting, it can reach 10ft or more.
