Fothergilla gardenii, or dwarf Fothergilla, has creamy white fragrant flowers that are produced in 2" terminal spikes in spring. The attractive blue-green foliage on this dense rounded plant turns yellow-orange to scarlet in fall. It does best in well-drained acidic soil. Can be drought tolerant once established.
