Ohkan Kagaku Kogyosyo (Kyoto Gondola Pastels) 18 colors set

Sale price$41.00

This item is available to ship

For over 100 years, Gondola Pastels have been carefully handcrafted one by one by craftsmen in Kyoto, Japan.

The 18 colors in this set are particularly tied to the distinct seasons of Kyoto and have names such as "Wisteria Trellis in Byodoin Temple" and "Tadasu Forest Green after the Rain".  You might notice that the green of the box looks like green tea.

You don't need to know anything complicated to use pastels. The basic way to use pastels is to use the tips to draw, paint, or blur by rubbing with your fingers. By combining these techniques, pastels can be used in various ways, and we hope that you will feel free to use them as a painting medium.
